SAMETI   General Council
The following constitute the General Council of SAMETI.
  • President of SAMETI : Honorable Minister for Agriculture, Government of Andhra Pradesh
  • Vice - President : Principal Secretary/Secretary to the Government, Agriculture & Co.operation - Govt. of A.P., Hyderabad
  • Representatives from different Central/State Offices:
    • Commissioner & Director of Agriculture, A.P., Hyderabad.
    • Vice - Chancellor, ANGRAU
    • Director, CRIDA, Hyderabad
    • Director, DRR, Hyderabad
    • Director, DOR, Hyderabad
    • Director, NRCS, Hyderabad
    • Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad or his Representative
    • Principal, EEI, Hyderabad
    • Director of Horticulture, Hyderabad.
    • Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, Hyderabad
    • Director of Fisheries, Hyderabad.
    • Commissioner/ Director, SIRD, Hyderabad.
    • Representative Nominated by Principal Secretary, Finance
    • Addl. / Joint Secretary to the Government , Agril. & Co.op Dept, Secretariat, Hyd
    • Commissioner, Rural Development, Hyderabad.
    • Chief Conservator of Forests, Hyderabad.
    • Director, NIRD, Hyderabad.
    • Director, Sericulture Department, Hyderabad.
    • One District Head from each district relating to Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries to be rotated once in two years, nominated by the Director, SAMETI, Hyderabad.
    • Project Director, ATMA, Kurnool.
    • Director, SAMETI, Hyderabad will be the Ex.Officio Secretary / Executive Director.
    • Persons of reputed recognition in the field of Agriculture and Allied activities to be nominated by the President.
    • Two farmer representatives to be nominated by the Executive Council with a term of two years only.
    • Director General, WALAMTARI, Hyderabad.
Functions and Powers of General Council

The General Council shall have the following powers and functions namely :-
  • Observe the provisions of the Memorandum of Association, the rules and such instructions of Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the department dealing with the affairs of the SAMETI as may be issued from time to time.
  • Exercise general control and issue such directions for the efficient management and administration of the affairs of the SAMETI as may be necessary.
  • Nominate members of the Executive Council in accordance with rules.
  • Approve the annual budget of the SAMETI drawn by the Executive Council and the approved budget shall be submitted to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, for sanction of Government grants
  • Consider the annual report approved by the Executive Council.
  • Consider the balance sheet and audit accounts for the outgoing years
  • Add and amend, with prior approval of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Rules of the SAMETI.
  • Frame by-laws not inconsistent with these rules and the Memorandum of Association for the management, administration and regulation of the business of the SAMETI for furtherance of its objects.
  • To perform such other functions as are entrusted to it under these rules.
  • The General Council may by resolution delegate to its president, to any standing committee or to the Director or to any other officer of SAMETI such of its powers for the conduct of the business as it may deem fit subject, it deemed necessary, to the condition that the action taken by its own president, the standing committee of the Director or other officers shall be subject to confirmation at the next meeting of the General Council
